Satin Striations – Print #1 of 10

Much of the Antelope Canyon is very dark with intense beams of light.  Even in the dark areas, the camera is able to render subtle color differences the human eye is often unable to see.  The striations in the sandstone of this image, etched into the rocks from flooding water over the millennia, create a rippled flowing canvas for the palette of color making the rock look like satin.
