Antelope Canyon is a delight for both color and black and white photography. The sunlight cascades down like water through the narrow slot above, bouncing and reflecting off the walls to create the varied and warm yellow, orange, and red colors. The natural sunlight is actually blue in comparison to this bounced light, and combined with the azure sky reflecting in the rock, contrasts the warm colors, mixing together to create varied deep blues and magentas. Much of the canyon is very dark with intense beams of light, but even in the dark areas the camera is able to render these subtle color differences that the eye is often unable to see.
